United Way of Delaware County Welcomes New Director of Leadership Giving (Jan 01, 2007)
A veteran of the United Way movement in several states has joined United Way of Delaware County as director of leadership giving.
Rhonda Baer, who began her new position at United Way of Delaware County this month, has more than 20 years’ experience working in social services and the United Way movement.
Her background includes fund development and financial management; policy and program development; administration; fund distribution; volunteer recruitment; working with community leaders and agencies; communications and marketing; government relations and advocacy initiatives. She began her United Way career at Middletown Area United Way in Middletown, Ohio, as a student intern and, later, associate director. She was the director of community and agency services at United Way of Bucks County, PA (suburban Philadelphia area) for 14 years and previously served as director of planning and allocations at United Way of Chittenden County in Burlington, VT
Rhonda is a native Ohioan, growing up in Cleveland. She earned a bachelor of science degree in urban studies and master of social work administration at the University of Cincinnati. She returned to Ohio three years ago to be closer to family in Columbus.
Rhonda is looking forward to continuing her United Way career in Delaware County and working closely with donors, funding partners, volunteers, community leaders, the board and staff.
