United Way of Delaware County Earns Certification (Aug 01, 2009)

Delaware County, Ohio – United Way of Delaware County has received the Membership Requirements Certification by United Way of America, indicating the local United Way has successfully completed all membership requirements and is a member in good standing.

"It is important for us to maintain high standards of accountability, and this certification is part of the process that confirms our local operations are transparent and meet or exceed United Way membership requirements" said Brandon Feller, president of United Way of Delaware County.

Each local United Way must complete the national requirements annually in order to retain United Way membership. The Board of Directors of United Way of Delaware County reviewed and approved the Membership Requirements Certification submission at its June board meeting.

The certification mandates completion of 13 requirements along with verification of the status of 47 indicators that a United Way demonstrates the intent of the membership requirements (such as enforcing conflict of interest policies, implementing a minimum of quarterly board meetings, etc.).
