United Way of Delaware County Accepting Applications for FY11 Funding (Jan 02, 2010)

Local non-profit organizations are invited to apply for funding for programs that address Delaware County's most pressing human service needs. Interested, eligible organizations are encouraged to apply for funding for fiscal year 2011. Deadline to apply is Feb. 8, 2010.

Applications are available by calling United Way of Delaware County at 740-369-9618.

United Way's funding model invites proposals for continuing or new programs from 501(c)(3) agencies, school districts or units of local government with services or programs reaching Delaware County. United Way's funding will continue to focus on basic essential services such as food and emergency shelter, as well as education and youth, health, and financial stability.

First-time applicants must attend the Tuesday, Jan. 19 mandatory training session from 9-11 a.m. at the Board of Elections building, 2079 U.S. Route 23 in Delaware.

Funding decisions are made annually by 40 community volunteers who comprise the United Way impact teams. Recommendations are then presented to the United Way Board of Directors for approval by May 1, with funding beginning July 1, 2010.

For more information, contact Tracy Whited at the United Way office at 740-369-9618.
