Five Pacesetter Companies Lead the Way in Campaign 2007 (Mar 01, 2007)
Five of Delaware County's most supportive companies will help United Way of Delaware County give an early launch to its 2007 fundraising campaign this month.
American Family Insurance, Delaware County Bank, Floyd Browne Group, Oberfield's and WITTMANHART are "Pacesetters" for the upcoming campaign — businesses who support local human service issues by staging early, exemplary workplace fundraising campaigns, making generous corporate contributions to supplement employee pledges, and supporting Community Care Day, a day-long volunteer service event. Community Care Day 2007 will be held on Sept. 18.
Focusing on "what matters," United Way leadership will strive to raise $3.25 million, which later will be distributed to local human service programs with the oversight of trained community volunteers who monitor the results of those programs.
Contributions are collected through employee pledges and corporate gifts at local companies, with the leadership of volunteers from the business community and public sector. Residents and retirees also have the opportunity to contribute through direct mail mailings and on United Way's website, www.liveuniteddelawarecounty.org. All monies are used locally for programs and services in Delaware County.
